Hitomitoi is a Japanese singer whose 2012 album City Dive, produced by Kunimondo Takiguchi of Ryusenkei, tied her to the 2010s city pop revival.[1][2]
Career
Her album City Dive was released on Billboard Japan Records in June 2012; it was mostly programmed by Ryusenkei’s Kunimondo Takiguchi, with Dorian and Kashif (Stringsburn) producing some tracks, and its songs were recreated with a full band for a show at Billboard Live Tokyo.[1] Its sister record, Your Time Route #1 (2012), also produced by Takiguchi, covered classic Japanese pop songs mainly from the early 1980s, by artists including Taeko Onuki, Mariya Takeuchi, Yumi Matsutoya and EPO.[2]
Later work
Her 2017 album Ecstasy was made almost entirely with frequent collaborator Dorian.[3] Telepa Telepa (2025), her first full-length solo album since then, features contributions from Jack Tatum of Wild Nothing, Dorian, Chocoholic, Shohei Takagi of cero, Kengo Kakudate of Yogee New Waves and Los Retros.[3] Your Time Route #1 was reissued on coloured vinyl 13 years after its original release.[2]
